Why Barack Obama Should Attend RecruitFest!

The last American Presidential election saw the winner use a whole new form of Social Media coupled with Community organization that was highly effective in motivating his base and crossing the line to previously disenfranchised voters…now that’s enough political talk for me…in the spirit of the Tonight Show with David Letterman here are the 10 ten reasons Barack Obama should attend Recruitfest (Sept 23-24 in Toronto)…

10. It’s all about the economy, that’s right recruiters that met at Recruitfest 08 formed relationships with their online community and took it offline, I can say with certainty that tens of thousands of dollars were generated directly out of the last Recruitfest a year ago. How’s that for ROI?

9. Along the lines of the economy it’s also affordable, if you get your ticket before August 15th you can go for two days of interesting and informative discussion with some of the rock stars of the recruiting world for only $250. And airfares that are inexpensive to Toronto are not hard to find (right Jerry).

8. It’s about community. We have this great online community at Recruitingblogs and we develop relationships that are virtual and online, however, wouldn’t it be great to meet, connect and relate in real life (or IRL for you twitter fans) and take your online community offline.

7. We’re going to have a great party, and I know watching the inaugural balls that Barack and Michelle Obama like a good party. You haven’t been to a great party until you see Jason Davis jamming with a bunch of recruiters.

6. Barack Obama believes in investment, and you have to be truly invested in the discussion to attend Recruitfest. This is not an unconference where you can sit back and take it in, we encourage you to dive right in and become a part of the discussion, folks coming to Recruitfest come here to learn, teach and learn some more.

5. Well, if you believe in Healthcare reform then you have to come to Canada.

4. Barack believes in the grassroots and that’s what Recruitfest believes in, we are committed to the grassroots of recruiting, we believe that those in the field and living the recruiting life have the most value and the most to offer and share with one another.

3. Face time, that’s right you don’t need a press conference to air your views at Recruitfest, the nature of the unconference will make sure that your voice is equal in value to everyone else’s, track leaders are there to lead a discussion, from last year, sometimes they will be talking less than you are.

2. Comedy, that’s right, you heard it here first, last year we opened up the conference with a Drum Circle and it rocked, this year, we’re going full on Canadian and will get you rolling in your seats with the improv styling’s of your fellow attendees.

And the number one reason Barack Obama should attend Recruitfest….

He’s more popular in Canada than in the United States

We hope to see you in September — www.recruitfest.com
